I’ve become a big fan of this song recently. I first heard it in “Clubland X-Treme Hardcore 4 CD 1 Mixed by Darren Styles” as a UK Hardcore song. I thought it was absolutely beautiful and it made me want to sing along with it. After doing some research, I’ve found out more about its origins and how it can be found on Darren Styles’ album, “Skydivin’.”

The hardcore version is personally my favorite, but I’m a UK Hardcore guy. Embedded below, and as usual, if that doesn’t work, use this external youtube link.

• A hardcore and duet remix were produced of this song by Force and Styles

• Most recently, Darren Styles of the former Force and Styles produced these two versions of this song
• Force and Styles was the name of a pair consisting of Paul Force and Darren Styles (why is this a fun fact? BECAUSE I NEVER MADE THE CONNECTION UNTIL NOW, OH WOW LOL)

Afternoon Daydream

It was World War III, or something like it at least. The young men of our nation were marching on their way to the battlefields. Unfortunately, not everyone gets to choose where he goes or when he dies or when he lives. There was an upcoming conflict, many knew. There was a looming feeling that our sons, our brothers, our nephews, our cousins, our friends, our fathers… they would not be returning from this… He sat at his desk, in his uniform. He thought of her. He slid his hand across the parchment, then held it in place. He picked up his pen and began writing.

By the time you receive this, I probably will no longer be around. I just wanted to let you know that, I love you, I have always loved you, and I always will. Maybe we will meet again, someday, and I will be waiting for that day.
